Young Skal Thailand received a generous sponsorship from Mrs. Corry Bik at the annual SKAL/PATA Christmas lunch at the Chao Phya Park Hotel. The cash donation will cover marketing expenses for 2009. Mrs. Bik, a leader in the tourism industry in Holland, owns and operates tennis academies, as well as inbound and outbound travel agencies.

Mrs. Bik shared her experiences assisting in training with a tennis world champion. She expressed her desire to inspire today’s youth to join the tourism industry and the importance of sponsorship and mentorship. She motivated the packed house of Thailand’s top tourism industry leaders to aspire to inspire the future leaders in the tourism industry and reinforced the value of professional memberships in organizations such as SKAL and PATA. Mrs. Bik emphasized the importance of youth involvement in Skal International at a local, regional, and global level.

Skal (www.skal.org) is an international organization of over 23,000 tourism professionals in over 500 clubs throughout 90 countries. Skal Thailand was founded over 50 years ago and has grown to 5 clubs in Thailand.

Young Skal Thailand organizes Networking Nights at some of Bangkok’s best venues, as well as working with members to arrange unique internships and exciting job opportunities.
