Keeping up with all things happening is key to the success of Africa’s leading travel and tourism trade show, WTM® Africa. That is according to Chardonnay Marchesi, WTM Africa’s dynamic General Manager.

A strong contingent of WTM® Africa team members descended on Reed Travel Exhibitions’ WTM Portfolio flag ship event in London, World Travel Market, earlier this month.

“It is really valuable for us to work alongside our colleagues from the WTM Portfolio in London at WTM”,commented Marchesi. “It was important that our team participated in as many activities at WTM as possible, so that we ensure a consistent high standard of delivery across the portfolio and at our event in Cape Town.”

WTM® Africa hosted the top ASATA Diners Club Awards winners; Lidia Folli, ASATA’s Exceptional Commitment winner and Minette Fourie, Tomorrow’s Leader at the London event. The WTM® Africa team participated in the Responsible Tourism Awards, topical industry events and festivals and worked alongside the marketing, communications and PR teams and to top it all WTM® Africa hosted an all-important engagement with potential African exhibitors in the form of an Africa Round Table forum which consisted of influential tourism professionals from all over Africa.

“We invite all travel professionals from all over Africa to come and experience the WTM Portfolio’s successful business formula of creating business and matching quality buyers with exhibitors, right here in Cape Town in April 2016. It is exciting times for travel and tourism on our continent. Not only will participants be able to meet and network with the best of the best in our industry, they will also be able to extend their knowledge by attending our many seminars and presentations. We have added some exciting topics to our events programme for 2016 that are pertinent to the growth of tourism in the region” concluded Marchesi.
