So what happened in Paris is a disgrace and awful. It really, really is. But what is also quite awful is how the press and media jump on it and highlight certain aspects. I read a few articles across all sorts of newspapers and magazines. Two things stand out:

1) They pretty much all have that one part where a witness is quoted, saying “The attackers said allahu akbar and then started shooting.”

2) So-called experts are quoted, saying “It doesn’t matter where you are you are never 100% safe.”

So let’s just let that sink in…

Re. 1: If an attacker would say “God bless” or “Shalom” or “In the name of Jesus” everyone would simply label those attackers primarily as mentally unstable and crazy people.

But by outlining the “allahu akbar” the whole world stands again united against Islam. How convenient. Because all Muslims are evil. (Hint: If that was true you’d all be dead already, because there are roughly 2 Billion Muslims on this planet. How come you are still alive?).

So my question is why those attackers are not called by what they are? Desperate, mentally sick and very bad people. That’s what they are – and they abuse a religion to gain attention. I am not religious at all, but I would kindly ask you all to use your brain and not your religious filter.

Re. 2: Good stuff, encourage people to be more fearful, foster the pain and anger and fear – that always helps. Make people more suspicious instead of kind and reaching out and trying to understand. Maybe get off your a** once in a while and think about how hunger feels. Or how it feels to have no home, no shelter, not much of anything at all. Have you ever been truly desperate in your life? If you read this on Facebook then chances are you have never been desperate.

I feel very, very (!) sorry for the families and friends that suffered a massive loss last night. But it sickens me almost as much to read the articles. As if one evil act is not enough, now comes the aftermath.
