JAL will be reinstating its second London to Tokyo flight (JL404/403) starting March 28, 2009. This will replace the London Osaka service (JL422/421), which will cease on March 28. The second Tokyo flight means JAL will be providing a double daily London to Tokyo service from the summer period onwards.

Fliers have the option of selecting the JAL Sky Shell Seat in the Premium Economy class, which has won a Good Design Award. Sponsored annually by Japan Industrial Design Promotion, this award is in recognition for its design and mobility features.

December 1 marked the first anniversary of the introduction of Premium Economy on the London/Tokyo route, while the London/Osaka service will also offer Premium Economy on a daily basis from November 29 until March 28, 2009.
