ROME, Italy (eTN) – A new festival of films will open in Rome, Italy, with the theme of the event being water. This is a great opportunity for tourists to book their travel around this inaugural and unique exhibiton. The MAXXI, National Museum of XXI Century Arts Museum complex of Rome will host the first edition of the Aqua Film Festival, from May 5-8, 2016.

This festival is dedicated to the precious pure and limpid element and source of life, and also a large vessel to showcase symposia, workshops, seminars, talks, meetings, round tables, exhibitions, fashion shows, performances, and specialized courses on the theme of water, starring in its many applications and angles.

The element of water is a representation of life, around which man was able to develop its settlements and its civilization, the arts and culture (paintings, figurative, sculptural, and theatrical), science and knowledge in engineering, architectural and protection, and maintenance of the state of well-being and health, in its most proper physical โ€“ sports – and its use for treatment and rehabilitation. For thousands of years, the water element has also been a magnificent and inexhaustible source of inspiration for writers, poets, playwrights, but especially in modern times of directors, writers, and masters of photography of film, who created the theme โ€œwaterโ€ as beautiful and immortal masterpieces.

The Aqua Film Festival, organized by brainchild Eleonora Vallone, actress, journalist, and expert of water methodology, has seen its growth and evolution with the Aqua Film Festival, Onlus, an organization that brings together experts and technicians of various souls that represent the water element as entertainment and its different aspects and daily involvement.

The festival has, therefore, set itself as an extraordinary bridge between โ€œCinema, master of lifeโ€ and โ€œWater, element of life.” The festival will be divided into themes such as sports, culture, science, fashion, arts, and performance.

The Aqua Film Festival promotes a film competition with three issues concerning: the Drinking Water, the Sea Water, and Thermal Water, divided into two sections: short films up to 25 minutes each and โ€œCortiniโ€ (spot style films) whose durations are up to 3 minutes each.

Special prizes are set for the winners of the contest, titled “Sister Water” for the best soundtrack inspired by water, and there will also be a prize for the best work done in schools that tell of water through images.

An award will be presented also to the best project promoting water saving in the world and a project that suggests the finding of the best waterways for the rights to water.

The program of the inauguration of the festival foresee a show presentation, screenings, and conferences on sport, lifestyle, fashion, music, and art videos, and also analytical talk and meetings with international speakers such as scientists, doctors, artists, and athletes who have had an important life experience with water.

The director of the festival, a pioneer in the Acquagym, will conduct the section “well-being in the water” with lessons for the couple and for expectant mothers and the involvement of school children for whom special workshops and laboratories are planned.

The Aqua Film Festival – in the words of the artistic direction – aims to raise awareness and empower the theme of water, through the arts and culture across the board, underlining its importance for humanity and proposing solutions to enhance the common heritage.

The Aqua Film Festival is produced by Taylor Services and is sponsored by the Olympic Committee and the Department of Culture Capital of Rome and other prestigious patrons and sponsors.
