US Women’s National Soccer Team game and Fed Cup to take place in Hawaii

HONOLULU, Hawaii – This month was an exciting month for Hawaii sports fans.

HONOLULU, Hawaii – This month was an exciting month for Hawaii sports fans. The HTA and the US Women’s National Team (USWNT), the reigning 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup champions, announced that it will play in Honolulu against Trinidad and Tobago on Dec. 6 at Aloha Stadium. This match up in Hawaii is the seventh stop of the Women’s World Cup 10 city Victory Tour.

The game will be broadcast live on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports GO at 3 p.m. HST time (8 p.m. ET).

Also, the HTA and the US Tennis Association (USTA) announced that the Fed Cup, the premier women’s international team competition, will be coming to Hawaii in February 2016. The match will be between the US and Poland at the Holua Tennis Center on Hawaii Island. The match will be broadcast on the Tennis Channel.

“Both of these events will bring in some high profile national athletes competing against international teams,” said George D. Szigeti, HTA president and CEO. “The broadcasts and publicity generated from these events will showcase Hawai‘i as a premier sports destination with year-round climate that’s ideal for outdoor events like the tennis and soccer matches. We look forward to welcoming the athletes, their families and fans.”
