INDIA (eTN) – Hospitality industry veterans in India have suggested to young entrants to have a positive attitude so that they do well in this growing industry.

Deepak Behl, Director of Human Resources (HR) at The Grand New Delhi, said at the 14th Chandiwala Hospitality Ensemble in New Delhi on October 7 that the formula for success in the hospitality line was KASH โ€“ Knowledge, Attitude, Skills and Habit.

Behl, who has been with The Oberoi group, also told the competing teams from various institutes at the three-day ensemble that the demand for professionals will continue to grow, as more and more hotels are opening.

Run after success, not money, he suggested, adding that money will follow. The HR expert said that a positive and sincere attitude would go a long way.

Sudhir Sibal, former Vice President of the India Tourism Development Corporation, who is active in various culinary and educational aspects, asked the students to have a vision and learn from the teachers and also have some fun during the course.

R. K. Bhandari, Director, said that the idea was to promote talent and cooperation between the academic world and the industry.

Among the many contests organized are fruit and vegetable carving, hotel facility planning, floral decoration, and a regional India culinary contest.

The ensemble has become a prominent event on the calendar of the hospitality industry.

It is organized by the Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology.
