Brazil's biggest airline, TAM S.A., formally began Orlando service Friday evening when the first flight from Sao Paulo touched down at Orlando International Airport.

TAM is now flying daily between the two cities, using 213-passenger A330 jets.

"The addition of TAM Airlines is an important step in our continuing efforts to open new and exciting global destinations for business and casual travelers here in Central Florida," Jeff Fuqua, the chairman of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, said in a prepared statement.
