The first quake was measured in the L’Esperance Rock, New Zealand region in the Pacific Ocean.

A little later a second and same strength earthquake hit on the American side of the Pacific Ocean, close to Pijijiapan, Mexico

Pijijiapan is a town and municipality in the Mexican state of Chiapas, on the coast of the Pacific Ocean about midway between the line with the state of Oaxaca and the international border with Guatemala.

No reports of serious damages or injuries are reported at this time. The earthquakes did not trigger any tsunamis.
