With the Silk Road in Xi’an undergoing major redevelopment works, the tourism industry along that historically and culturally rich road is poised to grow further. To help tourism stakeholders to capture this market, Xi’an will host the second edition of the China Xi’an Silk Road International Tourism Expo (CXSRITE) 2015 at the Xi’an Qujiang International Conference & Exhibition Centre from September 11-13, 2015.

Jointly organized by the Shaanxi Provincial Tourism Administration (SPTA) and the Singapore- based Conference & Exhibition Management Services (CEMS), this three-day mega event is expected to cover an area of over 20,000 square meters, with over 500 exhibitors from more than 30 countries and regions. CXSRITE 2015 is also projected to attract about 4,000 professional buyers and 30,000 visitors.

This year’s exhibition will also be especially exciting as Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) has been listed as a Country Partner for CXSRITE 2015. As a Country Partner of CXSRITE 2015, KTO has a series of exciting performances and activities lined up on September 12, 2015. They include B-Boys dance contest and Fanta-Stick performances.

This expo follows the recent Ministerial Meeting on Silk Road Tourism organized by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and hosted by the SPTA in Xi’an in June, where more than 16 Tourism Ministers and Deputy Ministers attended. At the meeting, a slew of recommendations were discussed and adopted to promote the tourism industry along the Silk Road and Maritime Routes.

In addition, in a study conducted in June by China Institute of City Competitiveness, Northwest China’s Xi’an city is ranked at the most competitive Chinese city in implement the Belt and Road Initiative. The ranking takes several factors into consideration, including location advantage, policy tendency, as well as potential rate of development.
