Two aircraft carrying about 40 people onboard have crashed near the Slovakian-Czech Republic border, killing at least seven people. The passengers were on a parachuting trip when the accident happened.
According to a witness, there were people jumping out with their parachutes open from the aircraft right before the accident that happened near Ilava.
A spokesperson for the Slovakian fire service confirmed that seven people had been killed in the crash. Three helicopters were used by the team that participated in the rescue while they were trying to reach the crash site in a hilly area.
