MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc, today announced the completion of the Sheraton Bloomington renovation, a sweeping $15 million project designed to reinvigorate the hotelโ€™s guest and public spaces. Owned by WB Hotel Partners and operated by Wischermann Partners, the hotelโ€™s renovation has also introduced a new modern restaurant, Lela, as well as the addition of Sheraton Club, the brandโ€™s exclusive lounge destination for upgraded amenities and offerings.

โ€œFollowing its expansive renovation, Sheraton Bloomington is a great example of the brandโ€™s new direction as we work toward our Sheraton 2020 goal to solidify Sheraton as a leading global hotel brand of choice, everywhere,โ€ said Bob Jacobs, Vice President, Brand Management Sheraton and Westin. โ€œThe hotelโ€™s modern enhancements and added amenities create an intuitive experience for guests, enabling them, as a result, to experience more during their stay.โ€

Upon entering the hotel, guests are greeted with illuminated registration desks in front of a dynamic, large-scale art installation. The lobby is also anchored by a 30-foot bar and ten-screen video display, providing guests a full-scale Starbucks experience during the day, and converting into a high-design bar in the evening. As part of this, Sheraton Bloomington now offers the brandโ€™s new reimagined food and beverage program Paired, comprised of artisanal small plates and eclectic bar snacks served alongside suggested premium wines and craft beers.

The modernization of all 282 guest rooms and suites presents a contemporary design with multifunctional furniture pieces, LED lighting and large-screen Smart-TVs, providing business and leisure guests alike an intuitive room experience during their stay. The transformation, designed by The Gettyโ€™s Group, also features the introduction of an all-new Sheraton Club lounge and a refreshed Sheraton Fitness facility. With the addition of three state-of-the-art meeting rooms, the Sheraton Bloomington now offers more than 17,000 square feet of meeting space, providing guests flexible options for any type of meeting or social affair.

โ€œWe are delighted to continue our partnership with Starwood through this revamp of the Sheraton Bloomington in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro area,โ€ stated Warren Beck, Managing Partner of WB Hotel Partners. โ€œThe added features and amenities offer thoughtful and purpose-driven design, programming and service to empower our guests and help them focus on being and performing at their best.โ€

Sheraton Bloomington has also added a new restaurant with Lela, which offers guests contemporary American cuisine rooted in classic technique. Led by executive chef John Mullen, III, formerly of 6Smith and B.A.N.K., Lela features prime steaks, innovative seafood crudos and house-made pastas in a modern, simplistic atmosphere centered around a bustling open kitchen. Guests can ignite their senses and savour exceptional cuisines through shareable plates for a group or small plate options for two.

โ€œWeโ€™ve inspired change that weโ€™re sure will exceed expectations by issuing modern, elegant and intelligent updates to both our service and hotel design,โ€ said Paul Wischermann, President and CEO of Wischermann Partners. โ€œOur associates are excited to connect with our guests whenever possible, collaborate on their passions and make each stay memorableโ€.

Conveniently located on the Bloomington/Edina business corridor, near the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and the Mall of Americaยฎ, guests of the Sheraton Bloomington Hotel have immediate access to the nationโ€™s largest shopping complex, Bloomingtonโ€™s outdoor trails, cultural attractions and entertainment โ€“ with Downtown Minneapolis only being a short drive away.
