This weekend an airport in Calabria, Italy, American rapper Snoop Dogg was detained when Italian finance police found US$422,000 in cash in one of his Louis Vuitton luggage.
It is against European Union (EU) law for airline passengers to carry more than 10,000 euros (close to US$11,000) in undeclared cash.
The police took close to half of it – $205,933, and Snoop Doog’s Italian lawyer said he will also have to pay a fine before he can get his money back.
His lawyer said the money came from concerts he performed in Europe, and legally it has been straightened out as an “administrative infraction.”
Snoop Dogg’s response to the incident? An Instagram post that simply said, “Italy.”
