NEW YORK, NY – The Peruvian Business Council, with the support of the Consulate General of Peru in New York and the Trade Commission of Peru in New York, will present Peru Show, Monday, July 27 – Sunday, August 2, 2015, at Chelsea Market, 75 Ninth Avenue. Curated by area Peruvian chefs and artists, the pop up will offer the best of Peru’s cuisine, fashion and cocktails. Peru Show is free to enter, and Peruvian products are for sale at retail and wholesale.

“Peru Show highlights the top quality, signature products Peru is famous around the world for,” Jose Carlo Burga, founding director and president, Peruvian Business Council said. “New Yorkers and visitors can experience all of the bold flavors and vibrant colors of ancient Machu Picchu, the Andes, and the Amazon rainforest, as well as modern, sophisticated Peru, right here in Chelsea Market.”

The Peru Show pop up is a preview of a 2017 permanent Peru showroom in the planned expansion of Chelsea Market.

“The only thing more exciting than shopping Peru’s world-famous, exquisite, handcrafted silver, high quality alpaca wool and pima cotton at Peru Show will be doing that while also enjoying Peruvian wines, signature pisco cocktails, ceviches and gourmet super foods, multi-variety potato and organic quinoa dishes, and more,” Conrado Falco, economist, Trade Commission of Peru in New York said.

“Chelsea Market has always been a hub for showcasing local and artisanal culinary excellence,” said Michael Phillips. “International pop-ups like the Peru Show are giving us a platform to further expose New Yorkers and visitors of the market to foreign cuisines and authentic crafts.”

Tambo Executive Chef Emmanuel Piqueras created the special prix fixe tasting menu. He is regarded as a master in Novo Andean techniques and credited with introducing modern Peruvian cuisine to New York City. Chicks To Go Mixologist Ximena Yrala โ€“ Elias, curated a selection of cocktails and wine pairings, which will be served by Amaru Pisco Bar.
