A Scottish tourist who flew into a rage and threw a credit card machine at a McDonald's manager in Queensland, Australia, because he couldn't order what he wanted has been fined $330.

Andrew Hamish Deans, 20, from Edinburgh, pleaded guilty in Cairns Magistrates' Court Tuesday to a public nuisance offense, The Cairns Postreports.

The court heard he and two friends went to the McDonald's on the Cairns Esplanade at about 5 a.m. on Oct. 5 and when they were told that only the breakfast menu was being offered, they became angry and aggressive toward the staff.

When the manager intervened, Deans threw the EFTPOS machine at his head, cutting him.Deans' defense lawyer, John Magoffin, said his client acknowledged his behavior was unacceptable.

Magoffin said the manager swore at the group and knocked his friend's credit cards on to the floor before his client threw the EFTPOS machine.

He said Deans cooperated with police at all times and agreed he had no excuse for the offense.
