Azam Marine, aka Kilimanjaro Fast Ferries, has just launched their fifth ferry, now deployed on the route out of Dar es Salaam harbor to the main Zanzibari islands of Unjuga and Pemba.

Known as โ€œKilimanjaro V,โ€ the ferry was built to order in Australia at an estimated cost of about US$8.5 million, joining several sister ships which are also deployed on the same route.

The ferryโ€™s cabins are air conditioned and offer seating in a two-class configuration, allowing passengers to choose according to their travel budget to either use the vesselโ€™s โ€œRoyal Classโ€ or else the cheaper regular class.

The ferries operate four times a day between Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar/Unguja in both directions while the route from Unguja to Pemba and back is served twice a week on Wednesday and Saturday.
