KeepTrax, a new “Internet of Me” mobile technology company that helps people remember the important moments in their lives, has launched KeepTrax Travel, a revolutionary travel app to effortlessly create a digital diary of a traveler’s journeys. KeepTrax Travel enables travel professionals to offer a private, branded mobile app for their clients that capture places visited, photos taken, distances traveled, and other interesting travel facts during their trips, and delivers the content in a concise travelogue format. With KeepTrax Travel, travel agencies and tour operators are able to interact in-trip and post-trip with travelers, gain incremental revenue through merchandising and access traveler insights for improved customer relationship management.

“KeepTrax Travel is designed to give people a simple yet powerful way to record meaningful travel moments, all courtesy of their travel agency,” said Kedar Benegal, founder and CEO of KeepTrax who has spent the past 15 years in senior strategy, marketing and operations roles in the travel and retail industries. “Unlike other travel apps, we have built KeepTrax with the travel professional in mind. We have a flexible platform, making it easy for travel agencies to stand out with their own, uniquely branded mobile presence.”

Top features within KeepTrax Travel include:

A Travelogue that summarizes a full journey into a concise set of pins, photos, comments, and other trip items, organized for easy viewing and sharing. The travel agencies may also offer their clients options to purchase related products and services such as hard copy travelogues.
A “Daily Snapshot” delivered via e-mail and web that provides the traveler a summary of the day’s activities such as places visited and photos taken.
Advanced features that allow travelers to share the details of a trip either in real time or after the trip is complete. The traveler controls all aspects of sharing, and can even limit duration of content sharing from as little as one hour to as long as 14 days.

Among the first travel agencies to use the new app is Joshua Expeditions, a company that specializes in group and student travel. “We send large groups of travelers on once-in-a-lifetime trips across the globe, and with KeepTrax Travel we are able to provide our clients a way to digitally capture these amazing experiences forever,” said Chad Hugghins, Chief Marketing Officer at Joshua Expeditions. “The sharing feature is particularly valuable to our student travelers as it provides parents a way to virtually tag along on their child’s journey.”

Today’s announcement comes just six weeks after the company announced a successful round of seed funding for developing the KeepTrax platform, a round led by venture capital firm Naya Ventures. In addition to travel use cases, the technology is also being applied in areas such as field/sales force management, real estate, and other areas where location journaling is important.
