SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y., June 1, 2015 — True East Charters, the luxury yacht charter service has launched to fill the need for day charters and customized water activities in the Hamptons. The company adds the new dimension to summering on the East End, the sought-after vacation destination. With True East Charters, one can escape the traffic to find serenity and refuge from summer heat in the Hamptons waters. Onboard and water activities range from restaurant hopping, “floating” drive-in movies, wine tastings, paddleboard yoga and bespoke catered events.

The company is the brainchild of Jessica Cohen, the luxury real estate broker in Manhattan, who saw the need in boat rental service when she couldn’t find one while summering in the Hamptons. She formed True East Charters by partnering with Michael Tierney, a local captain with 15 years of experience in skippering mega-yachts in the area.

The fleet of yachts includes the brand new Azimut Atlantis 41-foot outboard yacht, distinguished by its beautiful Italian design, meticulous craftsmanship, comfort and performance. Many of the yachts are equipped with such luxury amenities as outdoor dining, grill, staterooms, salons with Satellite TV, Wi-Fi, 3-zoned sound systems, central air conditioning, heat and showers.

True East Charters offers half- and full-day trips with departures from Hamptons Bay, Southampton and Sag Harbor. Day trips in the Hamptons can accommodate travel to/from Westhampton to Montauk to North Fork, to Block Island and Essex, Connecticut. Private chauffeurs are available for pick-up and drop off within a 2-hour drive from dock locations. Overnight trips are available upon request with itineraries to Newport, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. In addition, True East Charters offers a pet-friendly option.

The name True East signifies finding a new direction, one’s True North, on the East End, delivered in luxury and style one would expect from boating in such coveted destination. “I am excited to bring this service to the area. The experience of being on the water has helped me discover my true passion. And, now I want to share this experience with others,” says Jessica Cohen about her new venture.
