Rwanda’s national airline, RwandAir, has just confirmed that effective tomorrow, May 27, flights to and from Bujumbura will resume.

Most airlines had suspended flights when the airport was closed as a result of the purported coup attempt, but most airlines from the region and beyond have now started to resume services. While few foreigners are presently visiting Burundi as a result of prohibitive visa requirements, many expatriates are still leaving the country, and the availability of scheduled flights will help them to accomplish that.
