PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic – The Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism (MITUR) announced updates to its current website at this year’s Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE) conference in Punta Cana. Taking into consideration the growth of international tourism, updates were targeted to bolster accessibility for visitors from key markets.

“The updates made to our official website were strategically created to aid our international visitors in planning their trips and learning about our culture,” says Evelyn Paiewonsky, MITUR’s E-Marketing Director. “Our new sections and language offerings ensure the highest quality of content available to both new and returning tourists and business travelers.”

The site’s brand-new interactive hotel directory, one of the main site updates, was created to give guests researching their travels the best opportunity to find accommodations perfectly suited to their needs among the country’s nearly 70,000 available hotel rooms.

Optimized for mobile, hotels are profiled by location, nearest airport, resort size, family-friendliness, all-inclusive amenities, meal plan offerings, deluxe designations, wedding facilities, golf facilities, pet-friendliness and much more. For the convenience of future visitors, the directory auto-populates hotel profiles with TripAdvisor and HolidayCheck reviews to simplify the process of finding their ideal stay.

Other prominent updates to the site include revamped press sections and the addition of new languages, making all content available to English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, German, French and Chinese speakers, with a Dutch extension to be launched soon. The site also features an event calendar for major Dominican cities, updated daily, along with access to downloading the Go Dominican Republic app for iOS and Android with helpful information, travel guides, maps and tips available both on- and off-line.

Whether visitors are looking for an adrenaline-fueled adventure or a quiet Caribbean escape, the country can provide it and everything in-between โ€“ Dominican Republic has it all.
