The Seychelles tourism office in the Middle East took part in the 12th Wedding Folies held recently in Lebanon.

Wedding Folies is an annual and highly-anticipated fair for couples planning their big day and is organized by Promofair.

The Lebanese Minister for Tourism, Michel Pharaon, was the one who officially opened the fair which had for exhibits wedding cakes, photography, make-up, jewelry, wedding gowns, suits, and costumes.

Also at the fair were an eclectic choice of caterers, wedding venues, travel agencies, wedding planners, favors, lingerie, chocolate suppliers, jewelry designers, photographers, decorators, makeup artists, hairdressers and beauticians, dancers, musicians, singers and zaffรฉ, flower suppliers, limousines and luxury cars, honeymoon destinations, and many more.

The regional manager of the Seychelles Tourism Office Middle East Ahmed Fathallah said Lebanon is still considered as a new market for Seychelles.

โ€œIn response to the growing need from this country along with the necessity to promote the destination, we were delighted with our presence which enabled us to reach the consumers and promote the Seychellesโ€™ products,โ€ he said.

โ€œThe Seychelles islands have an immense diversity and variety with a wide range of unspoiled islands, some of the most beautiful and deserted beaches in the world, untouched forests and bird sanctuaries, facilities, and accommodation to detailed insights into niche interests such as sailing, diving, fishing, romance, flora, and fauna.

โ€œIn 2014, we have done a joint collaboration with one of the big tour operators in Lebanon to create a brand and product awareness of Seychelles through different activities that were made to boost the islandsโ€™ visibility.

โ€œWe have received a lot of positive feedback from the clients and new ones, too, who learned more about Seychelles. Having our own stand on this niche event, has helped us to increase our presence to specifically reach the target audience for Seychelles,โ€ he added.

Throughout the four-day exhibition, the Seychellesโ€™ team welcomed many visitors and happily answered all their questions about the Seychelles as a honeymoon and wedding destination.

A total of 114 exhibitors took part in the Wedding Folies which attracted 9,200 couples.

Seychelles is a founding member of the International Coalition of Tourism Partners (ICTP) .
