Notting Hill Carnival Roadshow Company of the UK reclaimed its throne as the best international float in this year’s edition of the Seychelles Carnaval International de Victoria.

Climbing the top of the podium for three consecutive years from 2011-2013, Notting Hill Carnival Roadshow Company was stripped off its title in 2014 by China.

Claire Holder who promised her team is coming back this year to bring back home the limited edition Tom Bowers’ sculpted gold trophy said they feel even better this year.

“We feel really good. Our group worked hard to take back the top position on the podium.”

The Notting Hill Carnival Roadshow Company range of new costumes from Sunshine International Arts, Mahogany Carnival Arts, BeeRaahar Carnival Club, Flamingo Carnival Club, and Paraison, together with its show-stopping performance, gave a lavishing performance to the public.

Brazil which came out third in 2014, took the second position this year. The Brazilians continued to be well received by the Seychellois public who are always attracted by the dancing performances of the Brazilians.

The delegation from Mauritius, dressed in their colorful attire showcasing “birds of paradise” pulled the Bronze trophy and ensured that the Indian Ocean Islands made it to the podium.

Mauritius was absent in the 2014 Carnaval International de Victoria, but it is vividly remembered by all that they had secured second position in 2013 edition of the carnival in Seychelles.

Joan Lamy, head of the delegation from the Mauritius carnival float, said “It’s a great honor for Mauritius to be in Seychelles and to walk back home with a trophy.”

Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, who was on stage when the island’s President presented the first prize to Notting Hill Carnival of the UK, said that this year the carnival delegations had landed in the Seychelles with the best possible act and décor. “We are indeed proud of the shows put up by the different delegations, and we salute them for this incredible show. It is always a great show to see the very best from the world of carnivals battle it out for top position at the Seychelles Carnaval International de Victoria,” said Minister Alain St.Ange
