Greenwich Peninsula Driving Range, a new state-of-the-art, 60-bay golf driving range on the banks of the Thames, will open on Greenwich Peninsula on July 1, 2015. The range boasts 300 yards of river frontage and directly overlooks Canary Wharf and The O2, providing a new urban golfing experience for London. In addition there will be a new fine dining restaurant at the center, Vinothec Compass, alongside a 3,000-sq-ft retail space and the largest golf academy in Europe.

The range comes equipped with flight technology and entertaining areas at each bay, while its position, just five minutes from North Greenwich Underground station on the Jubilee Line, makes it accessible to all Londoners and visitors. The centreโ€™s restaurant, Vinothec Compass, will offer a casual fine dining experience, including hundreds of different wines, a Thames view terrace and wine school, serving stellar vintages and unusual wines at affordable prices.

Created as a joint venture between Knight Dragon Developments and N1Golf, Greenwich Peninsula Driving Range is one of Europeโ€™s most ambitious new golf projects. A fully serviced N1 Academy at the range will provide eight full time PGA Professionals for lessons and advice, and will also work with schools and youth centres in the area to bring a golfing culture, traditionally the preserve of out-of-town courses, to central London.

Declan Malone, PGA Professional and Founder of N1Golf, said: โ€œThis is the biggest thing to happen in golf in London for thirty years. With N1 golf centres and academies located around the UK, this will be our flagship. N1 aim to make this facility not just a place to “whack some balls” but to revolutionise how golf is perceived – by being a family, corporate, fun, golf entertainment facility.

Phil Richins, Marketing Director of N1Golf Group, said: โ€œDue to the very high profile and positioning of the Greenwich Peninsula Driving Range we believe it will attract people from all walks of life. With the 60 bays, tuition, retail unit and the Vinothec Compass Restaurant, Bar & Wine School we are able to cater for everyoneโ€™s needs from large Corporate events through to childrenโ€™s birthdays or just an individual who wants to come along and hone their swingโ€

Richard Margree, Chief Executive of Knight Dragon, said: โ€œAs part of our creation of a dynamic new district for London, we are delighted to be providing an exciting sporting and dining destination and look forward to welcoming golfers and non-golfers alike.โ€
