TRIPOLI, Libya – The government of Libya has strongly condemned the execution of Ethiopian Christians by ISIS-affiliated terrorists in Libya. Libyan officials expressed condolences to the families of the victims and repeated calls for assistance from the international community to eradicate the threat of terrorist groups.

“We are outraged by the barbaric murder of 28 Ethiopian nationals in Libya,” said Foreign Minister Muhammad Dayri speaking from the Asian-African Conference in Indonesia.

“The evil hordes of ISIS continue to perpetrate vile acts of terrorism on the innocent and must be stopped,” said Dayri.

The internationally recognized government of Libya has previously asked the United Nations for help in supporting the Libyan security apparatus to be able to more effectively confront terrorism and continues to reach out to the international community for further assistance.
