Russia’s Novosibirsk International Airport introduced an updated Summer 2015 flight schedule with increased frequency on several destinations and the resumption of seasonal routes.

Russia’s Novosibirsk International Airport introduced an updated Summer 2015 flight schedule with increased frequency on several destinations and the resumption of seasonal routes. The schedule will be in effect until October 24, 2015.

During the Summer 2015 flight schedule the frequency of flights will be increased on such domestic destinations as Moscow, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, Ufa, Samara, Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude, Khabarovsk and Vladivostok. Among the resumed are flights to Kyzyl and Strezhevoy. In May, 2015, there will be commenced service to Novokuznetsk. It is also planned to increase frequency of flights to a number of popular Russian resorts such as Sochi, Anapa, Krasnodar and Simferopol.

With the onset of spring and summer Novosibirsk International Airport will continue to serve more than 15 destinations in the CIS countries. Regular flights to Ust-Kamenogorsk will be resumed in May. Also, frequency of flights to Bishkek and Almaty will be increased. A new partner Air Manas starts operations on Bishkek โ€“ Novosibirsk route in the end of April.

Starting from June 2015, a new direct scheduled flight on Novosibirsk – Seoul โ€“ Novosibirsk route will join the list of international destinations in the route network of Novosibirsk airport. Also, direct scheduled flight operations will be resumed to such international destinations as Dรผsseldorf, Hannover, Antalya, Bourgas. The airlines will continue to operate direct scheduled flights from Novosibirsk to Frankfurt, Istanbul, Beijing, Urumqi, Bangkok, Harbin and others.

Charter flight program at Novosibirsk International Airport in 2015 will be traditionally presented by such destinations as Barcelona, Thessaloniki, Nha Trang, Heraklion, Rhodes, Antalya, Larnaca and others.

It should be noted, that the airport has almost completed the modernization of the Terminal B (international services). The main scope of work has already been completed: new arrival sector, baggage claim system, two additional telescopic air bridges (total number reached three), escalators and elevators. Airport pays special attention to passengers with disabilities and creates all the necessary conditions for their convenience. With the opening of a new duty free area, food court and business-lounge the passengers of international flights will be able to comfortably spend their time waiting for a flight. The total area of the terminal will be more than doubled up to 26 thousand sq. meters. The modernization of the Terminal B is expected to be completed by the end of May, 2015.

One of the significant stages of the modernization is re-equipment of the Border checkpoint. Number of passport control booths will be tripled: from 6 to 17 for arrivals and from 6 to 18 for departures, also, two booths will be installed in the transfer hall.

Currently the airport is preparing for its operation during the spring-summer period and expected to be ready by April 30, 2015.

Under the framework of preparation works the airport departments together with independent operators have re-examined features of air navigation, ornithological, jet fuel and meteorological support of flights during the spring-summer period, as well as the issues of traffic safety on the apron and maintenance on the airfield. By the beginning of the spring-summer period, airport staff and external organizations pass all appropriate trainings, additional briefings on safety and testing to determine the level of knowledge. Airport staff renews airfield pavements marking, conducts ecological and ornithological inspection of the airfield, finalizes preparations of special vehicles, GSE, and a variety of systems.

Novosibirsk International Airport is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity โ€“ up to 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories. In 2014 the passenger traffic exceeded 3.9 mln passengers and cargo traffic totaled 28.6 thousand tons of cargo and mail handled.
