STAMFORD, CT – Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc today announced the debut of its eco-wise Element brand in North Dakota.

Located directly across from the new Sanford Fargo Medical Center, Element Fargo boasts an ideal location in the booming Veterans Boulevard Corridor. Owned and managed by StaySharpe Hotels, the new Element hotel offers smart, sustainable lodging for eco-conscious travelers with 130 light-filled rooms and an atmosphere designed to fuel a life in balance and on the move.

“Weโ€™re thrilled to introduce the Element brand to Fargo with its clean, modern design and emphasis on smart, sustainable living,” said Brian McGuinness, Senior Vice President of Specialty Select Brands for Starwood. โ€œRecognized as an industry leader in the eco-space, Element is on track to triple its portfolio within the next 24 months and continues to gain momentum across the globe.โ€

Element Fargo is ideally situated across from the new $494 million Sanford Fargo Medical Center and is just ten minutes from one of Microsoft Corporationโ€™s largest campuses in North America. The newly constructed hotel is also close to historic downtown Fargo, West Acres Mall and the Fargodome โ€“ home of the North Dakota State University Bison. Located in the southeast corner of North Dakota, Fargo is part of the Fargo/Moorhead/West Fargo metropolitan area, which is experiencing rapid growth driven by its energy, technology and manufacturing sectors.

โ€œWe are delighted to partner with Starwood Hotels to introduce Element to Fargo and expect the new hotel will help meet the demand for high-caliber lodging in this bustling metropolitan area,โ€ said Kyle Newman, President, StaySharpe Hotels. โ€œThe stylish and sustainable Element brand brings an entirely fresh perspective to the extended stay guest experience and provides a welcome alternative for travelers visiting Fargo.โ€

Element Hotels feature natural light, modern design, healthy options and eco-minded sensibilities. This reimagined extended stay experience is perfect for the traveler who is visiting for a few days or a few weeks. Guests can fuel their day with the healthy Rise breakfast and wind down with the Relax evening wine reception โ€“ both complimentary. Spacious studios and one-bedroom suites at Element Fargo feature a fluid design of modular furniture, flat-screen LED televisions ranging from 40โ€ to 65โ€, large desks with open shelving and custom-designed closets. Rooms will also include fully equipped kitchens and the signature Heavenlyยฎ Bed, and spa-inspired bathrooms will feature an invigorating rain shower and dual-flush toilet. Staying on the move is easy with complimentary bikes to borrow, a state-of-the-art 24-hour fitness center and an indoor saline swimming pool and sauna. The hotel will offer fast and free wired and wireless high-speed internet and a 453 square-foot meeting room with modular furnishings, a flexible layout and cutting-edge technology that can be customized to meet any business or social need.

Element is the first major hotel brand to mandate that all properties pursue the U.S. Green Building Councilโ€™s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for high-performance buildings. Itโ€™s recognized as an industry leader in the eco-space and offers travelers a fresh, reimagined interpretation of the extended stay hotel experience.

Element is experiencing incredible growth momentum. With 19 deals signed in 2014, the brand is on track to triple its portfolio by 2017. On the heels of opening its first hotel outside of North America in Frankfurt, Germany, Element will open its first hotel in China later this year followed by new hotels in London, Amsterdam, Boston and Philadelphia, signifying the global appeal of the brand.
