LOS ANGELES, California – The comfortable 4-star Mövenpick Hotel Frankfurt City in Germany is proud to receive Green Globe certification for another year. The hotel achieved an incredible compliance score of 96 percent. During the last three years the Mövenpick Hotel Frankfurt City has successfully reduced its average electricity demand by 5.18%, energy for heating by 4.27% and average water consumption by 1.67%. In addition, many other Green Globe initiatives are planned in the near future and all staff members are motivated to work sustainably on a daily basis.

Bernhard Haller, General Manager at the Mövenpick Hotel Frankfurt, said: “We are very proud to achieve Green Globe Certification again. All of my employees are constantly reinforcing their commitment towards environmental conservation and social responsibility. I would like to thank the entire hotel team for their commitment and ongoing efforts that resulted in this great award.”

Mövenpick Hotel Frankfurt City has devised a series of Corporate Social Responsibility activities that assist the local community. During the Pre-Christmas period a Christmas tree filled with wish requests from children of Arche Frankfurt, an organization that cares for disadvantaged youth, was placed in the lobby of the hotel. Guests and staff were invited to fulfill the individual wish requests by purchasing gifts. On December 19th and 20th the children of Arche Frankfurt shared happy moments during a special Christmas party where Santa visited and distributed presents. The children and their tutor were surprised and speechless at the generosity they had been shown and enjoyed a truly wonderful festive event in Frankfurt.

Every year the hotel organizes a special Easter Brunch Buffet. This year, on Easter Monday for each buffet meal sold the hotel will donate EUR 5.00 to the Frankfurter Stiftung für krebskranke Kinder (Charitable Fund for Children with Cancer).

Furthermore, as part of its energy saving strategy The Mövenpick Hotel has installed new floor lamps with LED bulbs. Old lamps were not thrown out but were purchased by associates and funds also donated to the Frankfurter Stiftung für krebskranke Kinder.

The team at the Mövenpick Hotel Frankfurt City annually supports the project “Sound of Life” by providing catering and also hospitality staff. This benefit concert has been organized since 2011 by the youth group of the Hilfe für krebskranke Kinder Frankfurt e.V. (Help for Children with Cancer).

Further projects are already being planned for the future.
