STAMFORD, CT – Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc today announced that its tech-forward Aloft brand has expanded its presence in Silicon Valley with the debut of Aloft Sunnyvale. The sleek, new Aloft hotel—formerly the Pacific Inn—features 85 spacious, loft-like rooms, an active social scene and a full line-up of innovative brand programming. Aloft Sunnyvale is located directly across from Sunnyvale Town Center, a 36-acre mixed-use development with shops, restaurants and entertainment.

“Aloft Sunnyvale is the perfect addition to this vibrant tech-hub that will attract early adopters with its distinctive style, state-of-the-art technologies and live music offerings,” said Brian McGuinness, Senior Vice President, Specialty Select Brands for Starwood. “Designed to meet the needs of today’s modern traveler, Aloft continues to build global buzz as we near 100 hotels worldwide.”

Aloft Sunnyvale offers easy access to the variety of shopping and entertainment options in Sunnyvale Town Center as well as proximity to the area’s leading technology and aerospace companies. Nearby businesses include Juniper Networks, LinkedIn, AMD, Yahoo!, Lockheed Martin, Honeywell and Northrop Grumman. The hotel is also within minutes of Town & Country Village Shopping Center, the boutiques and restaurants on Murphy Street, Onizuka Air Force Station and Carnegie Mellon University’s Silicon Valley campus.

Amenities at Aloft Sunnyvale include a 24-hour state-of-the-art fitness center, the brand’s signature WXYZ bar and re:fuel at Aloft – a one-stop gourmet grab & go food and beverage area. The hotel is also one of several successful adaptive re-use projects for the Aloft brand in cities across North America including Aloft Orlando Downtown, Aloft New Orleans Downtown, Aloft Tulsa Downtown, Aloft Dallas Downtown, Aloft Detroit at the David Whitney and Aloft Tampa Downtown. Aloft Sunnyvale joins Aloft Cupertino as the second Aloft hotel owned by Shashi Group and its affiliates and managed by Azul Hospitality Group.

“We are proud to expand our partnership with Starwood Hotels to introduce yet another Aloft Hotel to Silicon Valley,” said Dipesh Gupta, CEO of Shashi Group LLC. “Offering distinctive urban design and intuitive technologies, the popular Aloft brand is extremely well-suited for Silicon Valley, the world’s most prominent high-tech hub.”
The Aloft brand’s innovative and exclusive initiatives set it apart. Aloft Hotels recently announced the launch of SPG Keyless—an evolution of Aloft’s Smart Check-in— the hospitality industry’s first mobile, keyless entry system allowing guests to use their smart phone as a key. The technology is available at select Aloft, Element and W Hotels worldwide. This forward-thinking initiative is part of the brand’s innovative DNA. Additionally, every Aloft Hotel around the world offers live, free access to local emerging artists as well as some of the hottest bands with Live at Aloft Hotels programming at the W XYZ® bars.
