ARLINGTON, VA – Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC), the financial settlement link between airlines and travel sellers, reported today that the consolidated dollar value of airline tickets sold by U.S.-based travel agencies decreased .91 percent for the first two months of 2015 compared to the same period in 2014, totaling $15.4 billion vs. $15.6 billion. February 2015 ticket sales increased slightly by .03 percent to $7.7 billion vs. the same month last year.
Ticket transactions increased 2.75 percent in 2015 vs. 2014 to 26.7 million. Passenger segments were virtually flat with a .86 percent increase to 55.6 million, compared to 55.1 million in 2014.
