More than 200 passengers were on board the Aung Takon ferry, plying from Kyaukphyu to Sittwe in Myanmar’s Rakhine state when it sank.

There is no confirmation about foreign tourists onboard this ferry.

The Aung Takon ferry was carrying more than 200 passengers from Kyaukphyu to Sittwe in western Rakhine state when it went down on Friday evening.

According to local officials 21 dead bodies were found, 2 men and 19 women. About 26 passengers are still missing. 167 people were rescued.
