Minister Roger Kacou, the Cote D’Ivoire Minister for Tourism, used “The Atlantic Initiative for Tourism 2015 Conference” in Rabat, Morocco, to confirm his country’s participation at the 2015 edition of the annual Carnaval International de Victoria that is expected to be launched on April 24.

Minister Kacou made the announcement and also confirmed to Minister Alain St.Ange of Seychelles that he will be personally heading Cote D’Ivoire’s delegation to the Seychelles Carnival. In the presence of Mr. Santiero Jean-Marie Somet, the Director General of Cote D’Ivoire Tourisme, Minister Roger Kacou discussed with Minister St.Ange of the Seychelles the possibility of signing an MOU for paving out areas for closer cooperation between Cote D’Ivoire and Seychelles when he is in Seychelles in April.

Minister Alain St.Ange of the Seychelles used the plenary session of the tourism conference in Rabat to congratulate Minister Roger Kacou for announcing that his country would be represented at the 2015 edition of the carnival in Seychelles. “Cote D’Ivoire is joining the Community of Nations [which] believe in putting their culture, and in so doing their people, at the center of their tourism development. At the Seychelles carnival, very much like at a tourism trade fair, we all look for press opportunities. We guarantee everyone coming that at the Seychelles Carnival the world press and all the most important television stations will be on the islands covering the carnival this year,” Minister St.Ange said as he added that ministers of tourism all have the opportunity to get the needed coverage for their country’s tourism industry through their very own culture.

The Seychelles Minister said that he was thrilled by the announcement that Cote D’Ivoire will be participating in the 2015 edition of the Seychelles Carnival. “This is the first time we shall be having a West African country join us for this cultural extravaganza,” the Seychelles Minister said.
