Seychelles re-elects Chamber of Commerc and Industry Chairman

The newly re-elected Chairman of the Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) recently thanked all the members who attended the annual general meeting last week and participated in voting in the new council.

“I congratulate all my team members who have been elected to the council with me. I am equally thankful towards Mr. Clifford André who stood as candidate against me. He has been a worthy opponent in this democratic exercise, to elect a council to lead our chamber for the next two years, and I wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” Marco Francis said.

“I thank all SCCI members who have once again put their trust in me. With this renewed mandate, I will continue to work to take our chamber to new heights. All our plans and ambitions can only be realized if we present a united front and work with each other towards a common goal despite our differences. Unity of purpose and action will ensure our success,” he added.

The annual general meeting held last Thursday, February 26, saw Marco Francis re-elected as Chairman, Dolor Ernesta also re-elected as Vice Chairman, while Hubert Hoareau secured the post of treasurer. The other councilors are: Mr. Andrew Padayachy, Mr. John Stravens, Mr. Basil Soundy, Mr. France Bonté, Mr. Ralph Volcere, Mr. Oliver Bastienne, Mr. Gonzague D’Offay, Mr. Rod Thorrington, Mr. Jerry Morin, Mr. Wilson Nancy, Ms. Marie- Cécile Esparon, and Mr. Pierre Quatre.

Seychelles is a founding member of the International Coalition of Tourism Partners (ICTP) .
