Star Alliance member, Ethiopian Airlines, presently connecting out of their hub in Addis Ababa three times a week to the international airport on Mahe, just became the first airline to bring the state-of-the-art B787 Dreamliner to the Seychelles. This was according to a regular source from Victoria, a one-off service, to showcase the new aircraft to the Seychelles tourism industry and public at large. The airline resumed flights to the Seychelles in September last year after an absence of six months, reducing flights from four to presently three a week. The service is according to information received operating with load factors of about 65 percent in average. While the designated aircraft is a Boeing B737-800 for the route, due to higher passenger numbers several of the more recent flights have been operated with B767-300 aircraft.

Passengers from the global ET network can connect in Addis Ababa onwards to Mahe every Monday, Friday and Sunday.
