In a few days, from March 4-8, 2015, the Vanilla Islands will participate in the ITB Berlin tourism fair to continue mobilizing tour operators on the marketing of combined trips including the islands of the Indian Ocean.

This action joins in an initiative started several months ago, which is now bearing fruit.

In 2014, the combined trips including at least one island of the Indian Ocean increased by more than 15 percent.

Today, about 11 percent of the total number of the tourist arrivals in the Indian Ocean is made by combined trips.

The main outbound markets are still European but the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) countries are growing fast.

The top 5 defines itself as follows:

– England
– France
– Germany
– Italy
– India

The presence in Germany at the ITB Berlin tourism fair has continued to stimulate this market.

About the Vanilla Islands

The Vanilla Islands are a grouping of islands in the Indian Ocean, namely the Comoros, Madagascar, Maldives, Mauritius, Mayotte, Reunion Island, and Seychelles. This association advocates the idea to associate several destinations in the same journey as the vector of development.

The World Tourism Organization from 2011 greeted this concept by the delivery of a distinction on the President of the Republic of Seychelles, Mister James Michel, and on the President of the Reunion regional government, Mister Didier Robert.
