Airline asks asthma man to pay more

By ukpress.com | Oct 13, 2008

An asthma sufferer was told he would have to pay thousands of pounds extra to fly because of his illness.

Charles Henderson complained to Emirates airlines after trying to book a return flight to Australia to see his son and grandchildren.

Mr Henderson, from Aberdeen, said he had been quoted £1,000 per person return for himself and wife Cath to travel to Perth. However, when he told the airline about his asthma, which requires oxygen on long haul flights, he was told he would need to pay an extra £6,000.
