The 62nd annual convention and exhibition of the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), also known as the Indian Travel Congress, will be held in Bali, Indonesia, from March 26 to 28.

The 62nd annual convention and exhibition of the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), also known as the Indian Travel Congress, will be held in Bali, Indonesia, from March 26 to 28. The theme is Reflections, Redefining Relevance.

It will be held at the International Convention Centre and the Westin Nusa Dua, with expected participation of 700 delegates from India, Indonesia, and other countries.

TAAI Acting President Sunil Kumar said in Delhi that the theme of the meeting, Reflections, Redefining Relevance, was topical, as was the venue, as India is having a festival of friendship – sahabat India – in Indonesia, in 16 cities, from January to May 2015.

India and Indonesia have had long cultural and political ties.

Interestingly, the TAAI chief pointed out that “our destination this year also gets reflected seamlessly with our theme. ”

Indonesia is known to have faced adversities in tourism, both natural and man-made, from the Bali bombings to the tsunami. They have emerged strongly facing challenges over time and believing in the fact that tough times do not last but tough people do.

The expected presence of representatives of national tour operators(NTOs) will be another unique feature of the convention.

The exhibition will have participation from a wide range of suppliers, products, and destinations.

During the business sessions, topics such as commissions and other issues will be discussed.

Sanjay Sondhi, head of VITO in India, said that the awareness and tourism traffic from India to Indonesia is expected to increase after the event.

Sunil Kumar said that while there were no direct flights between the two countries, the connections were convenient, and a direct flight was also in the cards.
