On Thursday, airberlin has taken its 80 millionth guest to Palma de Mallorca. Statistically speaking, this means it has flown almost every German citizen to the Balearic island. Jubilee passenger Danny Sasse (in the center) arrived together with his wife Nicole and their children Adrian and Evelyn on flight AB7762 coming from Berlin-Tegel. Airberlin and Palma airport surprised the family with a flight voucher and passes to the VIP lounge at Palma airport. The first to congratulate THEM were the Airport Director, Josรฉ Antonio รlvarez, (2nd from left) and Paul Verhagen (2nd from right), Area Manager Spain & Portugal at airberlin.

Already the very first airberlin flight on April 28, 1979 took off from Berlin to Palma de Mallorca using a Boeing 707. The airline has been the leading airline in the market at Palma de Mallorca Airport for eleven years. During the winter season airberlin currently undertakes 170 flights a week from Germany, Austria and Switzerland to Mallorca. In the coming summer season there are 400 weekly flights from Germany Austria and Switzerland on the flight schedule.
