Local reports in Zambia are saying that Fastjet Zambia has successfully completed Phase 1 of its application for an Air Operating Certificate from the Zambian Civil Aviation Authority.
โThe process to obtain permission to operate in Zambia is proceeding extremely well,โ Ed Winter, Interim Chairman and CEO of Fastjet, told reporters. โWe have an excellent team in Zambia, who are working positively with the local authorities to complete the approval process as efficiently as possible.โ
If granted landing rights, Zambia will be fastjet’s second base where it will operate low-cost flights to various destinations in East and Southern Africa.
Whatโs expected to follow in the process entails Zambian authoritiesโ evaluation of Fastjet Zambia’s company structure and examination of its Airbus aircraft.
