INDIA (eTN) – Croatia, a beautiful European country, is the latest to try to get a slice of the ever-growing Indian outbound travel market.

This is being done now under a partnership with Uniline, the DMC of Croatia, and Udaan, the well-known Indian company known for its expertise and reach in the important visa segment of the market, which concerns all travelers.

Rajan Dua, managing director of Udaan India, told this correspondent in New Delhi on December 24 that the time was ripe to boost arrivals from India, and other countries in the region, to Croatia, which has many natural attractions, like lakes and natural beauty. Dua said his target is the get the MICE market, for which Croatia has excellent facilities.

Udaan has a wide network and handles visas for many big companies and individuals, and this would help the marketing effort for the new country in the portfolio of Udaan.

Dua said he has ambitious plans to have new offices in places like Pune and Ahmedabad.

Croatia will be marketed as part of travel to other parts of Eastern Europe.

Shailesh Tewary, president of the Croatia South Asia Business Forum, and advisor to Udaan, said that there were bright prospects of trade and commerce between India and Croatia, and this, too, will boost travel.

With EU membership, a Croatia visa will not be an issue.
