The Seychelles International Trade Expo 2015 is set to become “The” trade fair promoting South-South cooperation and business regional integrations.

The Seychelles International Trade Expo 2015 is set to become “The” trade fair promoting South-South cooperation and business regional integrations.

Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Seychelles small Enterprise Promotion Agency, and Public Promo Ltd., in close collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, launched Seychelles International Trade Expo as an add on to FetAfrik 2015. The Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) which had been instrumental in staging the first House, Garden, Hospitality exhibition luring 50 thousand visitors to its exhibits explained why Seychelles International Trade Expo 2015 will remain on FetAfrik calendar year-round.

“Seychelles is trying to position itself as a hub in Asia and Africa. Seychelles International Trade Expo 2015 is an opportunity for Seychelles to see different products in the region and for people of Seychelles to enter into partnership and joint venture with businessmen.”

Seychelles International Trade Expo 2015 will focus on specific sectors such as agro products, food & beverages, and hotel equipment among others relevant to the African market.

With a forecasted figure of 150 exhibits, the Seychelles International Trade Expo 2015 is said to become a kaleidoscope of cultural experience. The challenge to stage the International Trade Expo had been given to Public Promo Ltd. based in Mauritius and specialized in exhibitions and conferences. Didier Desennevielle, the company’s Event Manager, said lots of marketing and logistics will be vital for smooth running of the fair. Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry said it is already sending out invitations for interested parties to book their individual booths and pavilions at the National Sports Council Hall Roche Caiman. Benjamine Rose, the Principal Secretary for Culture, said the fair will ensure future openings for market and developed cooperation for Seychelles.

“It is time for Seychelles to have “The” trade fair which will bring together international trade partners and developed South-South Cooperation,” he said.

Sherin Naiken, Chief Executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board, sees the Seychelles International Trade Expo 2015 as an opportunity for tourism establishments in the country to source out contacts from suppliers.

Seychelles is a founding member of the International Coalition of Tourism Partners (ICTP) .
