Reunion Island at “AT Reisen Erlebnistag” event in Leipzig

German tour operator, AT Reisen Erlebnistag, organized a show in Germany in the region of Saxony, providing an opportunity for Reunion Island Tourism (IRT) to showcase its presence to destination meeting companies in East Germany. On this occasion, an IRT delegation traveled to Leipzig along with airline Air Austral representatives.

Nearly 800 visitors strolled the aisles for a day, and had the opportunity to meet with Reunion Island Tourism delegates, to collect information and advice provided by the representatives of the IRT and Air Austral. During the show, visitors could also take photography workshops or attend presentations from various locations, such as Reunion Island, where more than 130 spectators responded to the invitation.

For the IRT, the presence in the AT Reisen Erlebnistag room revolved around several points:

• communicate and inform the meeting destination in the region of Saxony;

• increase awareness and visibility of the destination in the German market;

• encourage customers to travel with the tour operator AT Reisen to Reunion Island and thus increase sales;

• benefit from the strong reputation of the tour operator in the East Germany region; and

• support programming of the tour operator.

Following the day, spectators and visitors issued concrete travel requests for 2015, providing a very positive return.

AT Reisen is a specialist tour group operator offering trips on the theme of adventure to distant destinations. Following the AT Reisen, product manager participation in an eductour was organized by the IRT in December 2013, and the German tour operator decided to schedule a tour for the 2014/2015 season. This tour is now part of the tour operator’s brochure and website, and will include a guided hiking tour, personal residence, and a combined tour of Mauritius.
