The Aden Adde airport in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu is under attack. Smoke is still rising outside the main gates of the airport after a car explosion on Wednesday morning.
At least one person has been killed in the blast. Several others have been injured, including a Somali-Canadian national.
The explosion took place outside the Jubba Airways office near the airport. The target appears to have bypassed a UN guard vehicle. The suspected car bomb exploded close to the heavily-fortified gates of Mogadishu airport, the entrance to the “green zone.”
A witness told eTN: “I can see black smoke coming from the scene and fire fighters and ambulances.”
