Pascal Viroleau, the CEO of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands Organization, is one of the tourism personalities invited to attend and address the historical Tourism Ministerial Meeting organized by the IORA (Indian Ocean Rim Association) in the Seychelles.

This Tourism Ministerial Meeting is the first ever of its kind organized for tourism ministers of the 20 Member States of the IORA. The Vanilla islands are also an Indian Ocean Regional Organization but the only group of islands of the Indian Ocean. The recognition of the Vanilla Islands comes at an appropriate time as Didier Robert, the Regional Council’s President of La Reunion Island who is the current President of the organization, is set to pass on the reins of power of the organization to the Madagascar Minister of Tourism in December this year.

The seven Members States are always looking at growing their membership base in a bid to group all the key Unique Selling Points (USPs) of the region.

Pascal Viroleau, who was met on his arrival in Seychelles by Alain St.Ange, the island’s Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, used his address at the IORA Tourism Ministers Meeting to position the Vanilla Islands within the IORA Organization.

Ministers present appreciated the update on the works of the Vanilla islands and accepted the proposal made by Mr. Viroleau that IORA should have a Tourism Committee to follow tourism matters within the IORA.
