LOS ANGELES, California – Enztal Valley, located on the edge of the northern Black Forest in Germany, is famed for its alpine villages where for centuries visitors have enjoyed the healing properties of the mineral hot springs. Today the region maintains its popularity with more energetic pursuits including exploring the vast conifer forests with 235 km of hiking paths and 800 kilometers of mountain bike trails.

The village of Bad Wildbad is a typical example of the region’s blend of old and new tourism, having recently renovated, and now promoting, the town’s 19th century thermal spa as a grand location for green meetings.

The Neo-Baroque style Forum König Karlsbad (The King Charles Bath-house) was built in 1890 and is renowned for its period artwork, stained glass windows and domed hall with antique tapestries and classic ceiling paintings. Maintained as a luxury spa throughout the centuries, this impressive building was renovated in 2010 to offer a forum for conferences with the main hall accommodating 150 people and four seminar rooms on the upper floor. The Forum also offers all the latest technology, while retaining is historical ambience and graceful style.

Bernhard Mosbacher, Managing Director of Touristik Bad Wildbad GmbH said, “We are very pleased to announce that we have received Green Globe Certification. Our target is to promote Bad Wildbad and our convention center Forum König Karlsbad as a sustainable destination. Now we are well prepared for the increasing demand for Green Meetings in Germany. And for all those people thinking about visiting our region, you can reach Bad Wildbad very comfortably by train so please feel free to leave your car at home!

“In the near future we are looking forward to combining rail transport with accommodation at a certified hotel and conference facilities at our Forum to deliver the complete green meeting package,” added Mr. Mosbacher.

Touristik GmbH Bad Wildbad (Tourism Bad Wildbad) works together with the region of Enztal to market the spa towns of Bad Wildbad, Enzkloesterle and the traditional courtyards at Enz. Apart from providing tourist information and promotion of the historic Forum König Karlsbad with its spa, gardens and local boutiques, the organization is also responsible for the cultural events held in Bad Wildbad.
