MAMA London is a day dedicated to selling London, and nobody could be happier about it than London Mayor Boris Johnson. โMarch Marketplace [affectionately given the acronym MAMA] is key to enhancing further Londonโs reputation as one of the worldโs greatest destinations to visit,โ the Mayor said.
MAMA London is a new B2B tourism event dedicated to selling the UKโs capital to international tourism buyers. This ETOA March Marketplace will return in 2015 with one day for suppliers from around the UK and Ireland, followed for the first time by an exclusive day showcasing London. By showcasing the right suppliers the event will give the inbound travel trade the chance to meet demand and fulfil their customersโ needs. Accommodation is essential to any visitor; MAMA London will attract more independent hotels and in-house sales teams from the big chains than ever before. These companies will meet and contract with international tour operators, wholesalers and OTAs.
MAMA will take place at the iconic Wembley Stadium on 16th and 17th March 2015, with the London focus on day two. Buyers and suppliers meet during a day of scheduled business appointments.
Boris Johnson, Mayor of London said: โI am delighted March Marketplace is returning to the city. Tourism is a significant industry for London and as host of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, London has shown the world our ability to welcome visitors from across the globe. As we seek to secure the tourism legacy from the Games, it is vital we continue to promote our spectacular city in key international markets.โ
Tom Jenkins, CEO of ETOA said: โMarch Marketplace is the worldโs premier B2B travel trade event. London is in a lucky position; demand is high. The capital is a worldwide magnet and steppingstone for visitors to the rest of the UK and Ireland; showcasing the breadth of the cityโs tourism offer is vital to attract valuable inbound markets.โ
