JAKARTA, Indonesia – Food industry leaders flocked to Fi Asia 2014 at the Jakarta Internal Expo, for three days in search of ingredients, inspiration, education and non-stop networking. Exhibitors, visitors and sponsors have all declared Fi Asia 2014 another resounding success.

According to UBM Asia (Thailand) Business Director, Rungphech (Rose) Chitanuwat, “We had a more than 13,762 visitors, featuring 688 leading local, regional and international ingredient suppliers from 46 countries. With 13,625 square metres of floor space, this represents a 60% on the previous highly successful Fi Asia 2012 last held in Jakarta. This strong growth confirms that Fi Asia undoubtedly answers an industry need and the unsurpassed reputation of the Fi brand.”

“Fi Asia is a huge event which could not continue to grow and succeed without the ongoing support of our valued partners the Indonesian Food and Beverage Association (GAPMMI), the Southeast Asia Food and Agricultural Science and Technology — SEAFAST Centre, and the Indonesian Association of Food Technologists (PATPI). They co-organised the ‘Food For A Quality Life’ international conference, which was a highlight of Fi Asia 2014. Chitanuwat also expressed her sincere thanks to exhibitors, sponsors and distinguished conference and seminar speakers for their outstanding contributions.”

“Unlike other events, the Fi portfolio is dedicated exclusively to food ingredients — not finished foods,” explained Chitanuwat. “This allows us to offer a one-stop, specialised show for food ingredients with a more focused approach so we can better meet our exhibitor’s and visitor’s specific needs and offer them the right ingredients for their success.”

“We were thrilled with the overwhelming positive feedback from visitors and exhibitors,” said Chitanuwat. “Visitors clearly appreciated the opportunity to meet exhibitors all in one convenient location. They know that Fi Asia is the best place to experience the newest ingredients and meet face-to-face with the companies that provide them. The unequalled conference and exhibitor seminars that augmented the tradeshow were also well-attended and generated lively discussions between delegates and presenters.”

Exhibitors reported they were busy meeting with existing and new customers, and developing business opportunities. Alexandra Rice, Marketing Director Kerry commented, “Fi Asia 2014 was well organised with a great attendance by a good quality and diversity of customers from throughoutAsia – a truly regional show. We had excellent discussions with the people we wanted to, including R&D, commercial and marketing. Our objectives of generating new business and increasing the profile of the Kerry brand in the region were achieved. Overall a really good show.”

“With not just a massive and vibrant domestic market, but also being a rich source of food ingredients,Indonesia is the obvious place to have an international food ingredients event,” notedChristopher Eve, President, Director UBM Indonesia. “The success of Fi Asia 2014 was such that many exhibitors have already rebooked for the next edition inJakarta – Fi Asia 2016 (21 – 23 September). To ensure regional access to leading ingredient suppliers and quality visitors, Fi Asia rotates annually betweenIndonesia and Thailand. Bangkok, will host the 19th edition of Fi Asia in 2015. We look forward to building on the success of ASEAN’s premier food ingredients event and welcoming F&B professionals to Fi Asia 2015 (9 – 11 September) inBangkok,” Eve concluded.
