RwandAir has just announced that it will resume flights to Mwanza, Tanzania’s lakeside city, effective November 1.

Flight WB 470/1 will operate initially every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, using the airline’s Bombardier Q400NextGen, leaving Kigali at 13.30 hrs local time and arriving in Mwanza at 15.30 hrs local time (one hour time difference). The dual class cabin configuration offers passengers across the network, even when traveling on the turboprob aircraft, the choice of premium services besides economy class.

The airline had launched flights to Mwanza two years ago but soon thereafter pulled out of the route. With the return to Mwanza, passengers from there now have the option to fly via Kigali to West as well as to South Africa, to Dubai and to the other destinations across Eastern Africa such as Juba.

Mwanza is RwandAir’s third destination in Tanzania after Dar es Salaam and Kilimanjaro and the 17th in the network. RwandAir flies to Brazzaville, Libreville, Douala, Lagos and Accra in West Africa, Johannesburg in South Africa, Bujumbura in Burundi, Nairobi and Mombasa in Kenya, Entebbe in Uganda and Juba in South Sudan and also daily to Dubai. Locally RwandAir does serve Kamembe, though that airport will be closed for runway repairs and extension as of November 1.
