On September 16, 2008 the Barack Obama’s campaign held a fundraising event at Greystone Mansion. Greystone, a 55-room Tudor-style mansion, is famous for the 1929 murder of oil heir Edward Lawrence "Ned" Doheny Jr. Our tour walks you through the beautiful courtyard, gardens, and Koi pond.
Being Hollywood, many films shot here include “Ghostbusters,” “Batman and Robin," "What Women Want," "The Bodyguard," "Spiderman III” and most recently, the 2007 film “There Will Be Blood” with Daniel Day Lewis. On TV's "Gilmore Girls," Greystone Mansion is seen as the exterior of the Chilton Preparatory Academy.
