Tourism academy of Seychelles impresses the undersecretary of the Omani Tourism Ministry

The Seychelles Tourism Academy has impressed the visiting Undersecretary for the Ministry of Tourism of the Sultanate Oman H.E Maitha Saif Majid Al-Mahrouqi.

The Seychelles Tourism Academy has impressed the visiting Undersecretary for the Ministry of Tourism of the Sultanate Oman H.E Maitha Saif Majid Al-Mahrouqi. She said that it is a great development and for a five-star location.

The Undersecretary for the Ministry of Tourism of the Sultanate Oman H.E Maitha Saif Majid Al-Mahrouqi congratulated the tourism academy after visiting the institution yesterday, accompanied by her delegation from the Omani Ministry of Tourism and the Oman Tourism College.

The Minister for Tourism and Culture of Seychelles, Alain St.Ange and principal of the tourism academy were also present to welcome H.E Maitha Saif Majid Al-Mahrouqi at the Seychelles Tourism Academy at La Misere in Seychelles.

She was given a tour of the new academy which is under construction, visiting first the completed block which will house the management course faculty, before moving to the restaurant where she was impressed with the breathtaking view which presented before her.
Speaking to the local media representatives present, H.E Maitha Saif Majid Al-Mahrouqi said there are a lot of areas in which cooperation between the two countries can be developed, such as training opportunities for the tourism academy and job trainings in Seychelles.
She added that the facilities at the La Misรจre-based tourism academy are amazing.

There is potential for exchanges in the future between the Oman Tourism College and the Seychelles Tourism Academy.
H.E Maitha Saif Majid Al-Mahrouqi said she would definitely recommend students from the Oman Tourism College to come to the Seychelles Tourism Academy for exchanges and vice-versa.

She thanked Minister St.Ange and the tourism academy team for making her visit run smoothly.

โ€œThere are other areas we will like to touch base with such as aviation and other segments in tourism as well as the culture aspect between Oman and Seychelles. I have seen a lot of areas of development and I would wish that all the best and congratulate them for what has been achieve
โ€œThis will hopefully be the platform to start building more cooperation with other sectors of the country as well,โ€ she added.

The visit forms part of the cooperation which exists between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Seychelles
โ€œThis visit is to ensuring that both parties are developing within a Memorandum of Understanding which was signed in 2002 and reviewing the areas of cooperation,โ€ she said

Minister St.Ange said it was a pleasure for Seychelles to welcome the Undersecretary for the Ministry of Tourism of the Sultanate Oman H.E Maitha Saif Majid Al-Mahrouqi.

“I am happy that H.E Maitha Saif Majid Al-Mahrouqi is here to see how we can strengthen ties between out two countries,” he said.
Oman is a well developed country with its tourism being a strong pillar of its economy, he added.

Minister St.Ange said discussions have also centred on Oman partaking in the fifth Carnaval International de Victoria, which will also coincide with the major conference for tourism and transport ministers from Africa to be held here.
