LONDON, England – Looking for a high-end event venue in London’s Mayfair neighborhood? The Beaumont is set to open on September 29—less than a week from today.

LONDON, England – Looking for a high-end event venue in London’s Mayfair neighborhood? The Beaumont is set to open on September 29—less than a week from today.

The hotel, which overlooks Brown Hart Gardens, is in an original Art Deco building designed by Wimperis & Simpson and built in 1926 as a garage.

The first hotel project from Chris Corbin and Jeremy King – the restaurateurs behind The Wolseley and The Delaunay – the 73-room Beaumont is located in the city’s Mayfair district, and will have a traditional American-style grill, residents’ lounge, a spa and a towering ‘inhabitable sculpture’ by artist Antony Gormley that protrudes from the building’s façade.

Guestrooms & Suites

In addition to its 50 guestrooms, The Beaumont will also have 13 Studios, eight One-Bedroom Suites, a Presidential Suite and (of course) Room – a one bedroom suite that is also a monumental figural sculpture and an architectural extension to the hotel.

Outfitted with separate sitting rooms, dressing rooms, and guest bathrooms, each of the eight One Bedroom Suites have been named for historical figures such has prominent WWII newscaster Ed Murrow, American socialite Barbara Hutton, and New York theater critic and member of The Algonquin’s Round Table Alexander Woollcott.

The Presidential Suite, which can be expanded to include up to five bedrooms, is designed to evoke the great transatlantic liners of the 1920s and 30s with brass details and antique furnishings.

And then there’s Room. Designed to be “a quiet, uninterrupted retreat” (so we hear), it is furnished only by a single white linen bed and can easily be taken to total darkness by closing the shutters on the one overhead window.

Throughout the hotel, each guestroom will have large walk-in showers, heated bathroom floors, and bath amenities from D.R. Harris –chemists to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and recipients of the Royal Warrant from Her Majesty the Queen.

For private gatherings, The Lotos Room can accommodate up to 16 guests for boardroom-style meetings or 48 guests for a reception.

Dining

Adding to their roster of London eateries, Corbin & King will open several on-property dining options including The American Bar and The Colony Grill Room as well as an exclusive residents’ lounge, private dining space and a daily assortment of snacks and beverages in the lobby.

The Colony Grill Room will be the centerpiece of The Beaumont’s dining scene with a menu inspired by the traditional grill rooms of London and New York. The Colony Grill Room will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner with signature menu items including Cornish Fish Stew, Brisket and Calf’s Tongue, and a New York Strip.

Specializing in bourbons and whiskies, The American Bar will offer a classic menu of simple, straightforward cocktails. Food options here include comfort food items like a Fried Shrimp Po’ Boy or Chicken Pot Pie. Good to know: The Cub Room will be available exclusively for hotel guests and will provide a daily offering of coffee and light bites.

Spa

Inspired by the Turkish Baths found in quintessential British and American health clubs, The Beaumont’s Hammam and Spa will have an indoor plunge pool, sauna and steam rooms, a heated marble relaxation slab, and an ice bar. In each of the spa’s two treatment rooms, guests can try treatments like ‘barefaced facials,’ beauty services, massage sessions, and a traditional hammam experience with exfoliation, a clay wrap, and an Argan oil massage.
